Middleton is home to a nationally recognized community trail system.
Roll or stroll through charming neighborhoods and parks or explore the pristine Pheasant Branch Conservancy. Bring your binoculars and plan to make a few stops along the way; the ponds, wetlands and waterways here are havens for birds and other wildlife.
While you’re enjoying the trails, keep an eye out for Middleton’s wayfinding signs along the way. They feature helpful QR codes you can scan with your smartphone to find great places to eat and shop, all within just a few blocks.
Mountain bikers will love the Middleton Bike Park, located at Pleasant View Golf Course. A pump track, jump line and single-track loop make for one of the most exciting mountain biking opportunities in the region.
Eight more trails can be found at nearby Governor Nelson State Park. Explore restored prairies, oak savannas and a 358-foot panther effigy mound in this beautiful natural area nestled along Lake Mendota.
