CXC Outdoor Center

The CXC Outdoor Center includes cross-country ski trails and bike trails. Middleton is partnering with CXC to expand trails, build a trailhead, and a bike park. Right now, visitors can rent skis, enjoy the slopes, and take part in events hosted by the center. So much more in store for this space!

Pheasant Branch Conservancy

Considered Middleton's scenic jewel, Pheasant Branch Conservancy is 549 acres of protected prairie, woods, and waterways that invite hikers, bikers, photographers, and birdwatchers to enjoy nature at its finest. Open year around, the conservancy's trail systems are all ADA compliant and dogs are welcome on their leashes.

Lake Mendota

Wisconsin is known for its beautiful lakes and Middleton shares a border with the area’s largest–Lake Mendota. There are public boat launches and a local rental shop if you're looking to  canoe, kayak, paddleboard, or pontoon.

Energi Station

There's a great way to get a free and fun workout in Middleton. Five ENERGI® stations are installed along Middleton's South Fork Trail. ENERGI® combines functional fitness and body-weight training to deliver a synergistic workout. In addition to illustrated signs, smartphone users can download an app and scan barcodes at each ENERGI®  station to receive video instruction from their own personal, virtual trainer.
