Pride month is all about letting your true self shine while celebrating and uplifting the LGBTQIA+ and ally community. It’s also a time to learn how you can further support a community as a whole. Throughout the month of June, there are multiple Pride events happening in Middleton and Madison. Learn where to celebrate Pride this month and throughout the summer.

Middleton

Middleton Pride

Saturday, June 8, Noon to 4 p.m., Stone Horse Green

Join the Good Neighbor City for its first Pride festival! Taking place in Stone Horse Green, the center of Downtown Middleton, there will be an afternoon of fun, games, food and live music. The day kicks off with Drag Brunch at 10 a.m. at the Village Green (diner adjacent to Stone Horse Green), and then programming begins at noon.

On the stage at Stone Horse Green:

12:45 p.m.: Drag Queen Story Time
3 p.m.: Perfect Harmony Chorus–Madison’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and ally TTBB chorus
3:30 p.m.: Drag Queen Story Time

Rainbow Rave

Friday, June 14, 1 to 6 p.m., Walter R. Bauman Aquatic Center

Celebrate Pride Month with the City of Middleton Parks & Rec crew at the Walter R. Bauman Aquatic Center’s Rainbow Rave — set for 1 to 6 p.m., Friday, June 14. There will be music, treats and of course, swimming. Open to all; admission: $5.50.

Madison

DELTA Pride

Friday, June 14, 5-11:45 p.m., Delta Beer Lab

Delta Beer Lab will celebrate with live music from Muscle Memory (6-7 p.m.), MQBS (8-9 p.m.), and DJ Tim Walters (9 p.m. to midnight). There will be food from Cinn City Smash, and desserts from The Baked Lab, and guest taps from Giant Jones Brewery and Herbiery. Several local, Queer-owned businesses will be popping up, including A Room of One’s Own Bookstore and the Red Clover Tattoo Collective. A handful of Queer and Queer-friendly local nonprofits and organizations will be present to get more information and / or join!

Comedy Plus: Pride Edition

Friday, June 14, 7-8:30 p.m., Crucible

Best of Madison winner Cheshire Cat Comedy brings you a special Pride edition of Madison’s sauciest variety show on June 14 at Crucible Madison! Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door and $5 cash with student ID.

Half-naughty, half-funny, COMEDY PLUS highlights multitalented performers in its special blend of stand-up and burlesque. Featured comics, dancers, and drag artists have showcased their wide-ranging chops with rap, harmonica, ukulele, fire performance, belly-dancing, live loop mixing, and state championship-winning yo-yo tricks on the second Friday of every month. Followed by ’80s Rewind dance night with DJ Nick Nice!

CapitolQ Theatre Festival 2024

June 21-23, The Bartell Theatre

Join us for our annual Pride Month celebration when StageQ takes over both Bartell Theatre stages for one weekend to present brand new play readings, 10-minute shorts, and one-act plays by up-and-coming queer playwrights from around the country. Get details, show times and ticket info here.

Pride Paddle!

Saturday, June 22, Noon, Wingra Boats (Lake Wingra)

Celebrate Pride Month with Pride Paddle at noon, Saturday, June 22, at Wingra Boats in Madison. Wingra Boats is owned by Madison Boats (which also runs Marshall Boat rentals in Middleton). There will be paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boating. Bring your own equipment or rent it online to reserve it now! There will be paddling, swimming, music, beaching at Henry Vilas Beach, and the whole event should take about three hours. Open to all in the LGBTQIA2S+ community and allies — bring your friends and loved ones and have fun!

Badgerland Pride Softball Classic

July 5-July7, McGaw Park

The Badgerland Pride Softball is a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBT) and supportive alliances social organization structured around the sport of softball and designed to promote and advance the health, social structure, and equality of the Madison, Wisconsin area’s LGBT community.

Outreach Magic Pride Festival

Sunday, Aug. 18, 1-6 p.m., Warner Park, Madison

OutReach LGBTQ+ Community Center will host our 6th Annual Magic Pride Festival LIVE in person at 1 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18, at Warner Park in Madison! The 2024 Magic Pride Festival will include a stage show with local LGBTQ+ identified performers, a large vendor area, games and activities for youth and families, food and beverages, and more!
