On a hot summer day, there’s no better place to be than Middleton. You’ll find lots of great ways to cool off in the “Good Neighbor City.”
Jump in the lake! Head down to Mendota County Park and enjoy the cool breezes blowing in over Lake Mendota. Jump in the water for a swim, launch a boat for a cruise on the lake or just enjoy one of the coolest spots in Middleton.
Splash! In Lakeview Park, you’ll find the Splash Pad, a colorful set of water features that kids will love. It’s probably the best place in town to cool off – plus, it’s free! The Splash Pad is normally open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, from Memorial Day through Labor Day — unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the City of Middleton has decided not to reopen the splash pad for summer 2020.
Hit the trail! Hike the shady forest trails of the Pheasant Branch Conservancy. The canopy of leaves keeps the forest several degrees cooler on a hot summer day, and the shade is wonderful.
Jump right in! Go swimming or take a trip down the water slides at the Walter R. Bauman Outdoor Aquatic Center.
Stay cool this summer – head to Middleton!
