Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with traditional Irish fare

St. Patrick’s Day approaches and if you didn’t grow up making the traditional Irish fare, or just want to treat yourself, you’re in luck!

Five local restaurants are offering up delicious Irish meals to grace your tables and fill your bellies this St. Paddy’s Day.

All Middleton restaurants offer carryout and most offer curbside pickup and delivery services.

It’s an annual tradition for Hubbard Avenue to offer lucky diners a St. Patrick’s Day dinner with homemade corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and soda bread — and of course, pie! Individual portions are $18.99, meals for two are $37.99, and a family meal for four is $64.99.

There are also add-on items available: Mystical Mint milkshakes, cookie decorating kits, extra pies, salads, dinner rolls, take and bake cinnamon rolls, quiches, and mimosa kits.

Preorders can be made on the diner’s Eventbrite page or by phone by March 14. Orders may also be made or called in on St. Patrick’s Day (March 17).

Longtable St. Patrick's Day Special

Known for its beer wall — Longtable Beer Cafe in downtown Middleton is preparing its own St. Patrick’s Day special of corned beef and cabbage that comes with a can of Guinness. Each meal is $15.

Diners can enjoy their Irish meal on the patio around a fire pit or by ordering carryout. Advance orders are not required but always appreciated. Food and drinks can be ordered for carryout online or by calling ahead. Reserve a fire pit table on OpenTable here.

Longtable’s beer wall displays 300 kinds of beer that can also be purchased in mixed packs to-go.

Middleton Sports Bowl

The Middleton Sports Bowl is open daily for dining and bowling — with safety standards in place. And for St. Patrick’s Day, check out their special of corned beef and cabbage with baby red potatoes, baby carrots and marbled rye bread for $11.95 per person, served from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 17.

Carryout is available and pre-orders are also accepted by calling ahead. Indoor dining is also available.

The Middleton Sports Bowl bar is offering the following St. Patrick’s Day drink specials: Irish Mule (Jameson Irish whiskey, lime juice and ginger beer) for $6; and Mint Martini (Irish crème, green crème de menthe vodka, cream) for $6. Drink specials are for dine-in only.

The Roman Candle

The Roman Candle might be a locally owned pizzeria in downtown Middleton but it’s celebrating the Irish holiday with St. Patrick’s Day specials this year.

The Middleton location is offering one free pint of Chocolate Shoppe ice cream with the purchase of a 16-inch specialty pizza. This promo is not available through online orders but can be redeemed by placing an order by phone or in person at The Roman Candle-Middleton.

There is socially distanced indoor dining available, as well as carryout, curbside pickup, and delivery.

Sofra Family Bistro

St. Patrick cocoa bomb from KrenareSofra Family Bistro is known for its Albanian-American menu that offers comfort food that delights the taste buds. For St. Paddy’s Day, Sofra is offering diners corned beef and cabbage with carrots and potatoes and also choice of their famous cream of Rueben soup or side salad. Meals are $15 each.

Orders can be made in advance or for carryout by calling ahead through March 16, dine-in is also available (with social distancing). Pick-up times for the carryout meals are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday March 17.

Krenare’s Custom Desserts is offering a box of four St. Patrick’s Day cocoa bombs for $20. There is also the option of a four-pack with two mini bottles of Bailey’s for $30. Must be pre-ordered for pickup during Sofra Family Bistro business hours on March 13 and March 14.
