When planning a meeting or event at a hotel, sometimes it’s fun to go off site and experience a little more of the area and try something new while you’re at it.

Here are five off-site ideas to consider:

1. Cider/Beer Pairings — Both Hidden Cave Cidery and Capital Brewery & Bier Garten offer fun tasting/pairing events with advance planning. Everything from cheese and beer to hard cider and chocolate. Capital Brewery also provides tours.

5. Piloted Pontoon — Rent a pontoon and hire a captain from Marshall Boats to cruise around Lake Mendota. Other watercraft rentals are also available.
