Location: 6825 University Ave, on the front left exterior of Willy St. Co-op West

Description: For Willy St. Co-ops 50^th anniversary they wanted to a celebrate a Dane County artist with the interpretation their vision statement: Willy Street Co-op is a local community partner that nourishes a sustainable, accessible, and equitable food system where everyone can participate.

Facilitated through Developing Arts, Murals & Alliances (DAMA), shoppers voted on their preferred mural for the side of the store, choosing the “Local and Native Species” theme. Selected artist Maria Schirmer said, “I wanted to tell the story of what does it mean to belong to a place and belong to a system that we are mutually tending to one another and that we’re part of the landscape.”
