Stop 15 (Downtown Trail) – Mazo Egg Factory
About
Downtown Middleton Historic Walking Trail Stop 15:
While the Mazo Egg Factory is not a historical landmark, it is of strong historical significance to Middleton. Owned by the Mazomanie Poultry & Egg company, the factory moved to Middleton in 1957, where it remained in operation until it closed in 1984. That same year, Capital Brewery was established and later took over the space. In the spring of 1986, Capital Brewery brewed its first beer, a pilsner, and opened an outdoor bier garten. Since then, the brewery has won numerous awards for its beers.
Status: This building currently houses Capital Brewery and Bier Garten and is open to customers. Learn about the rich history of Capital Brewery here.
