Stop 22 – Incorrigible art bus shelter
About
Artist: Barbara Vater in partnership with the City of Middleton Public Arts Committee
Location: John Q. Hammons Drive near Greenway Boulevard (West) stop, located 8302 Greenway Boulevard
Description:
For her inspiration, Barbara states, “The natural world and travel are catalysts and inspiration for visual memories and creative ideas. Whether far from home or in a nearby garden, I look and see at a deeper level, finding color, emotions or moments that must be captured. Sketching, photographing and, most of all, prolonged observation, provide impetus for my art.” The original artwork medium is oil painting. Barbara is also the artist behind the Prairie Macro art bus shelter and is from Middleton.
The Incorrigible bus shelter is one of ten locations along Metro Transit routes that feature artwork by Dane County artists. The project is intended to highlight, encourage, and promote local artists by giving them exposure in the public realm while also compensating them for their work. These shelters are stops 21 – 30 on the Middleton Outdoor Art Trail and can be seen while driving from each Art Trail location. View all of the stops here.
