Lane's Bakery
608-444-9533 (Based in Middleton)
Facebook Page
Dane County felt a little dimmer when Lane’s Bakery, the beloved, 69-year-old family business, closed its Madison doors in 2023. So when the bakery announced a comeback in Middleton with pre-orders, wholesale, and pop-up events, the community lit right back up.
Lane’s is best known for its kringles, but the menu runs deeper: fruitcakes, holiday cutouts, butter cookies, cupcakes, and more. And, in this writer’s humble opinion, the whipped-cream cake has no rival.
Keep an eye on the bakery’s Facebook page for upcoming holiday pop-ups, when the storefront opens to the public for walk-in purchases. Arrive early; the first pop-up sold out before noon. If you’d rather skip the rush or want something personalized, reach out to the bakery directly to place an order.
