Hidden Cave Cidery was founded by a local Wisconsinite, Walker Fanning, a University of Wisconsin-Madison grad with a dream to support local Wisconsin agriculture. He has worked for area orchards and “every bottle of Hidden Cave Cider is packed with Wisconsin apples. We love to use local honey from Mount Horeb, as well.”
The cidery just opened summer 2021 and currently is only open from 1-9 p.m., Saturdays. Hidden Cave’s tasting room is still under construction, but Fanning hopes to have it completed by this November (2021). In the meantime, customers can enjoy the outdoor patio and one of four picnic tables (built by hand by Fanning and his tasting room manager) and enjoy some of Hidden Cave’s creations. Reservations are not required but they do ensure you a table! Reservations can be made online and dogs — on leashes — are welcome!
