MHS Homecoming parade

The parade will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m. The parade will begin near Clark Street Community School and end in front of the Performing Arts Center on Lee Street. The route has been shortened and the parade should finish by 6 p.m.
Spirit Night festivities will begin at Breitenbach Stadium at 6 p.m. Staff and their children along with other elementary and middle school students and community members can play on inflatables on the field. Food will also be available to purchase. MHS students will get to use the inflatables from 7 to 7:45 p.m.
The annual powder puff football game between the junior and senior girls will start at 8 p.m. The dance and cheerleading teams are scheduled to perform during the game, while the tug of war competition between the four classes will be held at halftime. The winning team will take on the faculty at an all-school pep assembly on Friday. Festivities should end around 9 p.m.
Students who need transportation can catch buses at the Rosemary Garfoot Public Library in Cross Plains and the Elver Park Community Center. They will also be returned to those locations at approximately 9:20 p.m.
This year’s Homecoming theme is The Great Gatsby, which students picked in a survey last spring. MHS hosts Janesville Craig in the Big Eight regular-season finale football game on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.
