Join us Saturday, March 21st, for Orval Day, one of our favorite markers of the arrival of spring. Orval, a beloved Belgian Trappist ale, started with a legend almost a millennium ago when a princess accidentally dropped her ring into a spring and a trout returned it. This legend is celebrated annually with a day to reflect on and enjoy this amazing Trappist ale.
To celebrate, we will be featuring bottles of Orval paired with complimentary cubes of our favorite Landmark Creamery Duet Gouda cheese. This mixed milk gouda is rich, nutty and creamy with notes of sweet butterscotch, gentle tartness and smooth texture from 12 months of aging. It pairs well with Orval’s fruity and slightly acidic bouquet, profound hop bitterness, and long, dry finish.
Importer Merchant du Vin makes a donation to a charity based on US sales on Orval Day – making this the perfect way to enjoy a great beer for a great cause.
Cheers to Orval and spring! 🍻
