Synopsis
From atomic bombs to the Vatican, no subject is off-limits in Tomfoolery, the 1980 musical revue of American satirist Tom Lehrer’s sarcastic yet cheerful songwriting career. Join our intimate ensemble for a fast-paced journey through over two dozen novelty songs that don’t shy away from hot 1950s and 60s topics such as politics, science, and pornography.
Each number features Lehrer’s signature “witty naughtiness” which can be seen merely from their titles, including: “The Masochism Tango”, “Smut”, “The Old Dope Peddler”, and “Poisoning Pigeons in the Park”. You’ll laugh non-stop and possibly even learn something, too. (Like: How many elements are there between Hydrogen and Nobelium?)
