The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) Gallery Night is a community-wide celebration of the arts as Studios, galleries, boutiques, restaurants, cafes, and other local organizations or businesses showcase artwork from 5 – 9 p.m., Friday, May 8.
The evening is packed with performances, receptions, artist talks, art-making demonstrations, and live music across the greater Madison area.

Middleton Visitor Center (1811 Parmenter St.)
Laurie Poast, of Middleton, will be the featured artist at the Middleton Visitors Center during Gallery Night. After 17 years in Europe, she has returned home and will exhibit her modern/minimalist sculptures with a Scandinavian aesthetic. Refreshments.
Middleton City Hall (7426 Hubbard Ave.)
Middleton Arts Committee presents an exhibition and artist reception featuring new works live-painted by Middleton High School students, demonstrating their skills and personal aesthetics.
The Regal Find (1834 Parmenter St.)
Mary Mildred created mixed media art pieces combining painting, photography, printmaking, and collage. Each piece is a bold and whimsical mix of nostalgia, pop art, and kitsch.
Grape Water Wine Bar (7466 Hubbard Ave.)
Grape Water Wine Bar will host two artists – Steve Grant/Kilning Time Pottery and Craig Schiestel. Craig Schiestl is a lifelong Wisconsin resident and figurative artist based in Middleton. Specializing in pencil drawing with digitally applied color, he draws inspiration from the state’s wildlife and natural landscapes. Steve Gant was introduced to the wheel in 1974 and returned to it after 40 years during COVID, reigniting a passion first shaped through teaching and receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from UW Madison. John/Christine Designs (1835 Parmenter St.)
Alongside their own innovative jewelry collection, the store will feature colorful hand-blown glass crafted with brute force and stubbornness by Angelo Fico and Karen Naylor. Using traditional Venetian techniques, they shape heated, molten glass into aesthetic and functional objects. Refreshments, Artist talk/demo
Rowley Museum (7410 Hubbard Ave.)
The Rowley Museum welcomes nature photographer Kathy Henning. Many of Kathy’s images are local, taken at places such as Tiedeman’s Pond, Owen Park, the U.W. Arboretum, Pope Farm, Stricker’s Pond, the MCC prairie on Old Sauk Road, and Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Hours are from 5 – 8 p.m.
DG Beauty Salon (1810 Parmenter St.)
Local artist display exhibition.
