Middleton’s Birding Big Day
WHEN:
May 9, 2026 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
WHERE:
- This event has passed.
Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day by getting outside and seeing how many bird species you can confidently identify throughout Middleton! Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just getting started, this is a fun, flexible, and community-driven challenge.
Can we break 100 species as a community? Join in and help us find out!
Head out on your own or in small “flocks” to explore your favorite birding spots around the city. Great locations include local conservancy areas like Confluence Pond, Graber Pond, Pheasant Branch, Quarry Hill, Stricker Pond, and Tiedeman Pond.
Two guided morning walks are available for anyone who wants to join and learn along the way.
Participate for as little or as long as you like! Watch your feeders, go out for an hour or two, or spend the whole day birding!
We appreciate the support of Edgar Spalding, Friends of Kettle Ponds, and Friends of Quarry Hill in the planning of this event!
