Join the CXC Outdoor Center at 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 21, and Sunday, Dec. 22, for a celebration of winter on cross-country skis and more!

Kick off your skiing adventure with free beginner lessons, roast marshmallows at our cozy fire pits, and sip hot cocoa accompanied by lively music. Enjoy family-friendly activities, including a “Try Cross-Country Skiing” station, a kid-friendly ice pond perfect for toddlers, and sledding on a gentle hill designed for families with young children. Rest assured, we have snow! The CXC Trailhead features a 1km machine-made groomed snow loop perfect for cross-country skiing and other snow-related activities.

Sunday, December 22
Join on Sunday for the “Freestyle Fun” 5K Race, open to skiers of all ages and skill levels. Whether it’s your first season or your eighty-first, this event is for you! The race uses a freestyle technique, allowing you to choose between classic or skate skiing the course.
  • 8 a.m.- 10 a.m. / Open Ski
  • 10 a.m. – 11 a.m./ 5km “Freestyle Fun” Race (Free)
  • 11 a.m. – 8 p.m./ Open Ski

Equipment rental is available at the CXC office by appointment only. They do not offer onsite equipment rental. To schedule a rental, click here.

Chili Cook-off: A Showdown of Local Flavors

Join Holy Wisdom for their first-ever chili cook-off featuring acclaimed chefs Evan Dannells, Dan Marek and Felipe Saint-Martin. Each chef will prepare a unique chili dish featuring local ingredients sourced from their favorite local farmers. Guests will then vote to crown the chili champion.
