Bring your blankets, chairs and friends for Downtown Middleton Summer Fun!
Beginning in July, there will be weekly entertainment every Thursday downtown in Stone Horse Green (the park area at 7550 Hubbard Avenue – right in the center of Middleton Center and next door to The Village Green).
From 6-8 p.m. every Thursday, that portion of the loop will be closed to vehicles. Visitors can easily order carryout from one of the 18 downtown restaurants, pick up their orders and enjoy the picnic tables in Stone Horse Green along with the free entertainment.
“With the pandemic receding, we wanted to bring people back downtown and create a fun atmosphere in the community,” said Kathy Olson, District 1 alder and a member of the Community Development Authority, which is organizing these events. “The Downtown Middleton Summer Fun (series) will be a great way to get outside, enjoy the arts, and support our local businesses.”
Here is this summer’s schedule:
- July 1: Moldy Jam
- July 8: Madison Shakespeare
- July 15: Slipjig
- July 22: The Tooles
- July 29: Too Sick Charlie
- Aug. 5: Middleton Jazz
- Aug. 12: Ken Lonnquist
- Aug. 19: Blue Spruce
- Aug. 26: Mackenzie Moore
There will be a one-block street closure starting at the intersection of Hubbard Avenue and Parmenter Street to create a pedestrianized area for the event. The closure will take effect at 5 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. The City of Middleton encourages visitors to use one of the off-street public parking lots just a few steps from Stone Horse Green.Categories:
