Late winter is a prime time for new beers at Capital Brewery. It all begins in late February with the annual beer festival, Bockfest, which celebrates the first batch of Capital’s seasonal Blonde Doppelbock. Thousands brave the cold at this fun winter festival for the chance to be the first to taste the subtle hop-flavored favorite.
Also making an appearance in February is Maibock, a dark, golden brew that boasts unmatched smoothness. Maibock brought home the bronze in the 2013 U.S. Open Beer Championship and silver in 2012. 2013 was also the year Capital Brewery was named Grand National Champion in the same competition.
All told, Capital Brewery produces eight annual beers, along with four seasonal brews and seven limited edition beers. Get a behind-the-scenes look at all the action with a tour, running Fridays-Sundays, then enjoy a brew in the Bier Stube during the chilly season or outdoors in the Bier Garten during summer, topped with live music and dancing.
