The Stamm House was built in 1847 and has served the Middleton community as a service station on the “Old Sauk Trail,” which ran from Milwaukee to Minneapolis. By 1852 it was converted into a hotel and tavern and named “The Pheasant Branch Hotel.” Guests roomed upstairs and corralled their horses in the back.

It has been restored to its original stone walls, ceiling and wine cellar, all with modern restaurant systems and now 1847 at the Stamm House offers lunch, dinner, Friday Fish Fry, Saturday and Sunday Brunch, as well as a full bar. Read more here.

The Stamm House, built in 1847, has served the Middleton community as a service station, hotel and tavern, speakeasy during the prohibition, supper club and now a staple Middleton restaurant. The building has since been restored to its original stone walls, ceiling, and wine cellar, all with modern restaurant systems. The Stamm House offers modern-upscale American dinner items, such as a variety of meat, pasta, and burger entrees. There is also a full bar with a variety of signature cocktails. Happy hour is offered every day, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. enjoy half off a select appetizer, and from 4:30-6 p.m., receive $1 off all drinks. The restaurant has a banquet capacity of 26, but larger groups may rent the entire restaurant. The restaurant’s “1847 Chef’s Cave” also accepts reservations for private parties of up to 8 people. The chef creates a unique menu for each tasting booked in the Cave; private dinner parties may also reserve the space when it’s available.
